Entering another uncertain year, with the likelihood of another one on the horizon, we can look back and get caught up in all the loss and chaos or we can focus on and be appreciative of what we do have. Despite the ups and downs, art remained a constant reminder; that no matter what we are dealt, there is calm to be found in the chaos.

The Satyrs and Maenads were associated with Bacchus and would follow him frolicking around like crazy dancing kooks. The graceful leopard, which was one of Bacchus’s associated sacred animals, looks on at the satyrs and quietly poses the question, has anyone seen their marbles?

The TRAILS exhibition was made possible by the America Arts Incubator and ZER01. We worked as a collaboration of artists from diverse backgrounds to create an interactive exhibition where viewers can engage and activate artworks via augmented reality where layers within the artwork are unveiled with tech.

In 2020, Le Roux had the opportunity to showcase at the Cultural Platforms represented by the Association of Visual Arts.

Exhibition at the Association of Arts in Cape Town, South Africa. Many of my depictions within the body of work dealt with trying to represent archetypes of human emotion and existence which is being experienced in a new manner in a post-modern, social media driven digital age.

The Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards (TMFAA) is a contemporary fine arts completion which seeks to inspire the passion that the late acclaimed resistance artist Thami Mnyele had for art.

The American Arts Incubator (AAI) is a creative exchange program that utilises community-driven digital and new media art projects to instigate dialogue, build communities, bolster local economies, and further social innovation.

The intense theoretical and practical program provided vital knowledge from within the art world facilitated by successful individuals in the business of arts prepared and facilitated by a vast variety of specialists within the industry.

The South African Fine Art Print Fair brings together fine art prints from all over South Africa to be viewed under one roof.

As a kid, I had much respect for the union buildings, later in life as news became apparent I day-dreamt about the 'games' in the lower gardens. Ironically I recently saw an image of the Gupta's rooftop styled a chessboard.

In 2013 Le Roux had her first taste of the big competitions, a daunting, intriguing curious world. Art competitions have a unique positioning in the art market.

The artist reminisces and stated that she will never forget intrigue which the museum instilled back in the day. A place where ideas are valued, artefacts are preserved, delicate creations are cherished and accessible for the general public.
